Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets and the associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. Platelets are a natural source of a number of growth factors in their natural and biologically-determined ratios

PRP involves taking blood from a vein in the arm and placing it into a special centrifuge. The platelets are separated from the rest of the blood. This is then injected into face or scalp damaged areas.  We use Zimmer Cryo-chiller to minimize any discomfort during procedure.  

Platelets release growth factors which regulate the healing cascade by signaling to surrounding cells to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new tissue. Key growth factors involved in this process include but are not limited to:

• Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)
• Transforming Growth Factor group (TGF)
• Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)
• Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)
• Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF)
• Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF)

You will see results after the first treatment. A series of treatments is advised to build enough collagen and promote skin or hair health. We recommend 3 initial treatments, 4 weeks apart for initial effective results, followed by 1 treatment every 6 months thereafter to maintain the results you achieved.
