BELOTERO BALANCE is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process for BELOTERO BALANCE yields a soft and cohesive gel that, once injected, instantly fills the skin to help smooth moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles.  While the product is versatile enough to handle moderate nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), it may be an ideal option for treating delicate areas such as etched-in smile lines and vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above and around the lips). 

• Avoid alcoholic beverages within 24 hours of your treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Vioxx, etc.), Aspirin, Vitamin E, and Ginko Biloba 1 week prior to treatment. This will reduce the possible side effects of bruising and/or swelling in the treated area.
• Avoid products/treatments that boost metabolism (diet pills and Endermologie) 1 week prior to treatment.
• You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you have a history of oral herpes, you must pre-treat with an anti-viral 3 days before your scheduled visit.

• Swelling, redness, and tenderness will occur after your treatment and usually resolves within 72 hours.
• Ice can be applied to treated area to reduce swelling in the first 24 hours after treatment.
• Avoid manipulation of treated area for a minimum of 4 hours.
• Avoid products that boost your metabolism for 1-2 weeks following your treatment as these products can minimize your results by breaking down the Juvederm before it takes effect.
• For the first 24 hours you should avoid strenuous exercise, alcoholic beverages, extensive sun or heat exposure, as well as medications that tend to thin the blood.
• Avoid aesthetic lasers, microdermabrasion, or IPL over areas with Juvederm for a minimum of 1 week after treatment.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

•  BELOTERO is made fom hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume.  

What are the side effects?

• BELOTERO BALANCE is FDA approved and has undergone testing in a clinical study to demonstrate its safety. Hyaluronic acid products for wrinkle correction have been available for a long time and used in thousands of treatments.
• Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve on their own. If any of these side effects persist for more than 7 days, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

How long do the results last?

•  Individual results may vary, but BELOTERO BALANCE may last about 6 months or more.5 Some factors that affect how long it lasts are the amount of product used and the area it is injected into. In areas that experience a lot of movement due to eating, talking, and smiling, the product may not last as long as other less active areas. 

Does it hurt?

•  As with all injectable treatments, there can be discomfort associated with the procedure. If you have concerns, discuss them with your healthcare provider, because there are effective ways to manage this during treatment and minimize discomfort.
