MICRODERMABRASION (FAQs)
What is Microdermabrasion and how does it work?
Our microdermabrasion system uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals to remove the dead, outermost layer of skin. This skin exfoliation process reveals the new, living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.
How long does a microdermabrasion treatment take?
The average microdermabrasion treatment generally takes 30 minutes and should be repeated at intervals of 1 to 2 weeks depending on skin type and condition and the desired outcome. After the procedure, there is a slight blushing of the skin, which disappears within one or two hours.
Is the treatment painful?
Most clients report minimal or no discomfort during the procedure. We customize each treatment to the client’s comfort level.
How soon will I see results?
Many clients experience softer, smoother, glowing skin after the first treatment. Improvements continue throughout your treatment program.
Can I combine Microdermabrasion with other procedures?
Microdermabrasion is the perfect compliment to other procedures including chemical peels, IPL photofacial, ReFirme® skin tightening, laser skin rejuvenation, BOTOX® Cosmetic or Restylane®.
How many treatments are required?
In order to achieve optimal results, we recommend a minimum of six treatments, one every 1-2 weeks. There are no long-term side effects other than a glowing, healthy complexion. Like many of our procedures, clients may have a microdermabrasion treatment and return immediately to their daily activities with minimal or no down time.
