CHEMICAL PEEL (FAQs)

How is the chemical peel procedure done?

During the procedure, you will have a cleanser applied to your face to fully remove the oils so that your Jessner's solution will penetrate properly. The Jessner's solution will then be applied to your face. Then a layer of retinoic acid will be applied. You may feel a mild burning sensation, which usually resolves within10 minutes.

Can I return to my daily activities immediately after the procedure?

You may return to your daily activities but avoid direct sunlight for one week. If you do go out in the sun, protect your face with a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher and wear a hat that shades your face.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You may experience slight redness immediately after the procedure. You may also develop a whitened look, known as "frosting" that will dissipate within a few hours. Typically, clients start peeling the 2nd or 3rd day after the treatment.

How long does the peeling process last?

Clients usually peel between 3 and 7 days. However, the peeling process varies depending on the client’s response to the treatment. It is imperative to wear a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher during the peeling process. After the peeling is complete, nice, smooth, glowing skin will be revealed.

How long should I wait between peels in the same area?

We recommend waiting 2-4 weeks between chemical peels.
